The works included are not only about the subjects — people who appear intriguing, defiant or relaxed — but also reveal the outstanding skills of the photographers, whose intelligence and diligence enables them to capture both a moment in time, and to convey something of the spirit of those photographed. Fully illustrated in colour throughout, the book features all the selected entries from this year's competition, as well as comments and insights from the judges. The 2010 judging panel will comprise of Sandy Nairne, Director, and Terence Pepper, Curator of Photographs at the National Portrait Gallery, London, plus a selection of high-profile figures from the world of photography. The catalogue includes interviews with the prizewinners by Richard McClure that give further insight into the photographers behind the portraits. |

For this exclusive collection of postcards, David Bailey, one of the worlds most distinguished and distinctive photographers, has chosen a selection of images from his archive some familiar, others previously unseen. This box of 36 portraits, reminiscent of Baileys acclaimed Box of Pin — Ups (1965), demonstrates the extraordinary range of people that he has captured during his long career; many of them famous, some anonymous, all of them unforgettable. |
