Friends is a motivating course for young secondary level pupils. The material is designed to capture students' interest through a variety of different contexts including humour, fiction, real life and cross cultural material. Grammar and vocabulary are taught in three steps — presentation, comprehension and practice. Reading for pleasure is encouraged and a carefully graded programme develops reading skills. Each student's book contains eight sections with four lessons in it followed by a revision section. 'Reading corners' and 'culture corners' develop students' skills. Each student's book has a small play at the end. |

Advanced learners need a grammar practice that refines and extends the knowledge they already have. Longman Advanced Learners' Grammar is designed specifically to do this. Grammar is clear and easy to understand with comprehensive explanations that highlight common errors and areas of potential confusion; Students gain confidence to use the language through lots of natural examples and practice to help them acquire natural language. Longman Advanced Learner's Grammar is a valuable resource for all upper-level students, especially those preparing for exams like Cambridge ESOL CAE and CPE. Diagnostic testing shows students exactly where they need to focus, while the CAE/CPE task types familiarize students with the format of the exams. |
